Dear Comrade,
Some time back, we had informed you of the opening up of our
website. We give our website address and
the e mail address for your guidance.
Website. Itpfchq.blogspot.com.
Email; itpfchq@gmail.com
We have placed the draft constitution on our website.
We have been trying to hold a preparatory meeting to initiate the formation and
functioning of the ITPF ever since the draft constitution was finalises. In the absence of such a meeting, we could not concretise that proposal. After discussing with the ITEF Mumbai Unit, it
has now been decided to hold the preparatory meeting at Mumbai on 28th
June, 2014. The meeting will be held at
the Aayakar Bhawan premises (the
quadrangle Shamiana) . The meeting is
expected to commence at 11.00AM and must conclude before 4.00 PM. on he same
day. We have made arrangement for the
comrades to stay at the Regional Training Institute hostel. The stay arrangements will be available from
27th evening to 29th morning. The ITEF Comrades have agreed to make
arrangements for your transportation from the hostel to the venue and back. Lunch on 28th is arranged at the
I.T. Department canteen.
We are not fully aware of the details of the Income tax Pensioners
Associations in various States. What we
propose is to obtain affiliation of all the units with ITPF. In other words, the ITPF will be a
Federation, having affiliated Associations in all States. This is to ensure that the existing
arrangements in the States is not sought to be disturbed. This might cause some difficulties for
getting registration with the Registrar of Societies. We
will get legal opinion in the matter
later. This understanding is however not reflected in the draft
Constitution. We shall make necessary
changes when we meet on 28th at Mumbai. There are certain states, where our comrades
are members of the Central Government Pensioners Association. We do not want to disturb any of the present
arrangements in different states We seek affiliation of all the State
Associations, whether separately functioning or functioning as part of the
Central Government Pensioners Association.
We have decided to affiliate our Federation with the National
Co-ordination Committee of Pensioners Associations of which the Secretary
General is Com. S.K. Vyas, the former Secretary General and President of the
Confederation of Central Government employees and workers. There may be quite a few issues which require
clarity for our comrades in their endeavour in organising State Units. The experience of the comrades who have
already organised the State Units will be of immense help in this
direction.
In the background of the passing of the PFRDA bill by the Indian
Parliament, the continuation of statutory pension has become a question
mark. The setting up of the 7th
CPC and their approach in this matter is of vital importance to the retired
personnel. Our endeavour must be to
organise all the existing pensions under one umbrella and take steps to ensure
the withdrawal of this pernicious decision of the UPA Government. We shall discuss this and many other issues on 28th. We solicit your kind co-operation and request
that our invitation to attend the preparatory meeting on 28th at
Mumbai may please be accepted and you make it convenient to attend the said meeting. Together let us strike to build an
organisation to safeguard the interest of the comrades, who spent the largest segment of their lively life for the
Government.
With greetings and with a request once again to kindly respond to
our invitation and be present at Mumbai on28th June, 2014.
Yours
fraternally,
K.K.N.
Kutty.
Convenor.
